Wednesday Musings.

Was up and at em at 04:30AM and had coffee with my bride, then she was off to the truck company and then the restaurant.

Rigg’s and I did take our morning nap and then just sat and watched the thunder storms and rains all morning, Rigg’s and Sadie are good in storms as long as they can lay by your feet or against you and feel secure. It rained a good soaking rain all morning until about 03:00PM and then the sun came out, the temps stayed below 70 until the sun came out and now it is 80 degrees.

My plan originally had been to get the flat tire on John Deere repaired and then cut grass, but now even with the sun the ground is soaked so it will be a day or two before I can hit all the areas without worrying about wet spots or soft spots. The area back where the burn pile was is all cleared will have to be seeded and straw put out. I wanted to run a rake through there and then maybe wait until the beginning of October before seeding and laying straw then let it set until spring and mulch it all up add a little more seed and I should have a pretty lawn started.

This summer with all the 100 degree weather put a stop to the grass early.

I am hoping now Sept and most of October will be nice weather with cool nights and warm days.

Didn’t leave the house at all today. Some times I am a recluse for days at a time, I just don’t go out if the weather is bad.

Me and my pal Rigg’s can keep busy right here inside, and he likes being with his Dad all day.

Nothing much to add for today another quiet day at the Weeb Ranch here in Dardenne Prairie MO.

Hope everyone is having a great day. be safe out there. Sam & Donna..

  1. At last we are having a cooler day too but, unlike you, no rain. We have not seen rain in months! What do you want to bet we will finally see rain again the entire week of the Escapade?

  2. We had a good soak here too but VERY high humidity 85% in fact. AC is a good thing today.

  3. We are sick of that high heat and humidity around here too, and topping off the summer with this hurricane-induced humidity again is just the frosting on the cake!~

Never had to run the AC in September that I can ever remember in Wisconsin, LOL.

Bring on AUTUMN--- my FAVORITE time of the year!
