Thursday Happenings.

Was up at 0430AM and had coffee with my bride, Then she was off to the truck company and then the restaurant.

I blogged for a little while, then Rigg’s wanted his breakfast,

I had to run some errands this morning, first to Walgreens to pick up a prescription I had filled. Then the liquor store for a bottle for the fiver, the it was off to the State Farm office to pay my Son’s car insurance payment. After that it was Walmart where I got a surge protector for the laptop’s in the fiver,  Then it was my last Stop, Shop & Save where I got the provisions for the trip next week.

Needless to say that took several hours to finish. Now the only thing left is to pack the clothes we will wear in the fiver and Rigg’s food, and we will be ready to blast off, only 8 days to go now.

Saw several blogs where they mentioned not being able to park their RV’s at home due to covenants and HO Assc rules, along with space limitations. I honestly do feel sorry for those people as it would be a total inconvenience to have to make several trips to a storage lot to get ready for a trip and not to mention the monthly rent. In ST Charles County MO. anything with a fence and lighting is bringing $30-$50 a month, so you have a tidy rental at the end of the year. That pays for a couple of tanks of fuel for me. Also I have the advantage of being able to make repairs here, and it is on a paved pad with electric and water available. could convert to an emergency shelter in case of emergency. In order to do this when we were house hunting, we specifically looked for a property big enough, and with no restrictions. It’s amazing how many people will fall in love with a place, and then complain later because they can’t park there. Best thing I can suggest is do your homework and call and ask about ordnances in incorporated area’s and if there is a H.O.A. where you are looking.

Nicole just got home from school, so now Rigg’s is happy. I think she has homework to do.

Not much else doing. Hope everyone is having a great week, Did I mention 8 days to go before our trip? Be safe out there. Sam & Donna….

  1. Sure a busy morning. We have HOA at the house we are selling and no RV's are allowed, wasn't important at the time, but who knows what the future brings. I would prefer no restrictions. Hard to believe only 8 days left.

  2. 8 days to holidays and travel. I can just imagine how much you are loking forward to this. It's seems to have been a long time since you were last able to take a trip in the RV.

    Blessings

  3. We are lucky enough to be able to park our Hiker here, too. Dennis had a concrete pad poured when we knew we were going to by an RV...Then he installed a 50 amp service so we could plug it in...Only thing we don't have is a sewer and we could just camp here!..8 days and counting!

  4. We did the same thing--we looked specifically for a house that had RV parking. Our current property is great--we can park our motorhome behind a secure gate. We even have a shop with an RV garage, but our motorhome is much too tall to park it inside. Oh well, we can't have perfection! ;)

  5. I know how much you and Donna are looking forward to this trip.

What is nice also is that we sold our house to our daughter so not only did we park the rig there before fulltiming but we still have a place to driveway camp. No charge, another benefit.

  9. I agree with you Sam, it's a shame when someone buys their property and pays their taxes but can't park their RV on their own land. Some people have what looks like junk yards in theirs but as soon as someone with a nice yard stores their unit on their own property they get in trouble with the rules. Just doesn't seem fair.
